While recuperating from elbow surgery, Arnold Schwarzenegger is still exercising.
"Nothing can stop me."
Arnold Schwarzenegger can't resist hitting the weights, despite having surgery. The legendary bodybuilder recently released a tape from his most recent exercise at Gold's Gym in Venice, indicating that he is continuing to train despite having recently had surgery on his elbow.
"Comebacks are a part of life," the actor wrote in the caption of the post. "I was pumped to get back into the gym after my little elbow surgery."
In the video itself, he added a bit more information, saying that even though he is strictly told not to push himself too hard, he views his workouts as being too crucial to skip. (It goes without saying that Men's Health advises anyone in the same circumstance to take their doctor's advice.)
"I tell you, this surgery wasn't easy… but so what?" he said. "It was a
little nerve situation, it needed to be operated on, but the doctor
said I could go back to working out, to take it easy, but I'm working
out. Nothing can stop me."
While Schwarzenegger appears to be recovering well from the elbow surgery, this is the second time this month that he has discussed how he recovers from surgery. In a recent YouTube video, he discussed the tense moment when he woke up on the operating table while having open-heart surgery in 2020.
"I was really freaking out," he admitted of the situation, adding that his recuperation from the operation—which occurred only three months before he was scheduled to begin filming the newest Terminator movie—was a true learning experience.
"The bottom line is, you cannot roll the clock back, it's a disaster. I was in the middle of a disaster," he says. "So now I say, how do I get out of it? You have to shift gears. Correct yourself, shift gears, and say OK, what I need to do now is I've got to get out of this hospital, number one. How do I get out of this hospital? By getting out of bed and starting walking."
