Saints quarterback Derek Carr suffered a shoulder injury in the loss to the Packers and was taken to a local hospital.

 



Although Carr was ultimately removed from the game and eventually taken to a local hospital for further examination, New Orleans was able to breathe a sigh of relief.

Carr suffered a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder, but appears to have avoided a more serious injury than initially expected, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reports, per sources. Rapoport added that after countless tests, no further damage was found to Carr's throwing shoulder.

When Carr can play again will be determined by swelling and his level of mobility, according to Rapoport, and while he could still miss it, it doesn't appear to be a Season-ending scrimmage gives signal from Saints. -caller

Carr was injured in a third-quarter sack by defensive back Rashan Gary, where he was whipped to the ground and unable to defend himself while protecting the ball.

Slow to get up after the game, Carr was able to leave the field and then go to the locker room after being evaluated in the medical tent. Jameis Winston took over under center for the Saints and remained there for the remainder of the contest after New Orleans cut Carr.
